Location

The Negev is a desert region that covers the southern half of Israel. The least populated area in Israel, it is home to the nomadic desert people known as the Bedouin as well as unique African wildlife. The Negev offers some spectacular scenery with captivating sites and places.

Kfar sagol is located in the north of the Negev in a moshav, an open, green place, with over 500 trees, and blissful eco-pools.  The village holds workshops and festivals for self-improvement and environmental awareness, which volunteers may attend for free!

About the project

Sagol Village is a unique eco village  built from mud and local materials. Located in the north part of Israel , the place is nestled in a moshav one hour from Tel Aviv. Sagol-Eco Village was created by a young couple with a dream of uniting hundreds of people with the unique goal of bettering themselves through an explicit connection to the earth and to one another.

Volunteer work and contribution

 Volunteers will mainly assist with:

  • Organic gardening
  • Construction using earthly materials
  • Maintenance of the Eco-Village

Working hours are 6 hours per day and there will be 1 day off a week to discover the area or enjoy the facilities of the village

Working with earth is completely different to working with cement, acrylic plastering and such. Earth is a durable material that can be revived and endure a long sculpturing process. It's also a lot of fun getting dirty by working with your hands.

Accommodation

Volunteers will stay in a wig wam which is a round dome per person or per couple, the kitchen is in a main space with a porch for all volunteers.  Vegan cooking provisions are provided along with a common Kitchen with a porch for all volunteers.

Travel highlights

After work hours, volunteers can enjoy this unique region, relax by our  new eco pool, and just chill out under the stars. Volunteers will recieve 1 day off a week to explore other regions of Israel such as Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
