Naifaru is a vibrant Maldivian island home to roughly 6,000 people, surrounded by lagoons, reefs and seagrass beds that support a rich variety of marine life. The island offers coral-restoration areas, a house reef and calm waters ideal for supervised snorkelling. Daily life is relaxed yet energetic, with small shops, cafés, schools and a hospital within easy walking distance. A nearby bikini beach (2 km away) is accessible on supervised visits.
Its compact size makes Naifaru safe and easy for teen groups to explore on foot. The beachfront location provides stunning sunrise and sunset views, and the island’s surrounding waters hold some of the atoll’s best snorkelling spots. Local culture is woven into daily life, offering teens a genuine experience far from typical resort environments.
Volunteers work alongside a respected NGO focused on sea turtle rehabilitation, marine-ecosystem protection and community education. Activities are adapted for teens and led by experienced staff who provide structured, safe and engaging conservation experiences.
