What’s Included
What’s not Included
Seoul is the capital of South Korea and a major cultural, economic, and transportation hub in East Asia. The city combines historic landmarks such as royal palaces and traditional markets with modern neighborhoods and efficient infrastructure. Volunteers can move easily around the city using the extensive subway and bus network. Seoul is known for its distinct seasons, vibrant street life, and a wide range of food options. The program accommodation is located in the Hongdae area, a youthful district with cafes, shops, and good transport connections. Daily essentials such as supermarkets, pharmacies, and ATMs are within walking distance. Seoul’s mix of traditional culture and contemporary life makes it a practical base for both cultural exploration and volunteering. The city is considered safe and well-organized. English signage is common in public transport areas. Volunteers have opportunities to explore different neighborhoods independently during free time.
Program Overview
The volunteer placement takes place at a local nonprofit childcare center that supports children from diverse and multicultural backgrounds. The center provides afterschool care and educational support in a structured, supervised environment.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers assist staff with daily activities and help create a positive and supportive atmosphere for children aged approximately 6 to 12. Tasks focus on education, play, and routine support rather than formal teaching roles. Volunteers work alongside local staff and follow their guidance.
