What’s Included
What’s not Included
Hua Hin lies on Thailand’s serene Gulf Coast, about three hours from Bangkok. The town combines long sandy beaches, cultural landmarks, and a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. It’s an ideal base for volunteers seeking a slower pace while still enjoying access to modern conveniences. From bustling night markets and beach cafés to national parks and temples, Hua Hin offers a rewarding mix of nature, culture, and comfort. Its safe environment and welcoming community make it a perfect choice for mature adults looking to volunteer abroad without sacrificing ease or enjoyment.
About the Organization
One of Thailand’s top volunteer organizations, this initiative partners with local schools, conservation projects, and community groups across Hua Hin. The program aims to improve education, support environmental conservation, and enhance community facilities – all while promoting meaningful cultural exchange and cooperation between volunteers and local residents.
About the Volunteer Work
Volunteers begin by selecting one of three main focuses for their first week:
Teaching & Childcare, Environmental Conservation, or Community Renovation.
Each placement is supervised by experienced coordinators and adapted to match your experience, interests, and preferred level of activity. Participants staying two or more weeks can choose to rotate to a new project area, offering the chance to experience both educational and environmental initiatives during their stay.
1. Teaching & Childcare:
Assist teachers in kindergartens or primary schools by helping children learn English through conversation, art, and play-based learning. Our teaching approach is relaxed and creative, allowing you to use your own methods to make learning fun and engaging. Many schools in Hua Hin face teacher shortages, so your support helps provide individual attention and interactive lessons through songs, games, and basic English practice. Volunteers also assist with classroom activities, playtime, and daily routines. Your participation not only supports local teachers but also helps students build confidence in speaking English with people from different backgrounds.
2. Environmental Conservation:
Join coastal and mangrove restoration efforts, beach clean-ups, and sustainability workshops with local schools and communities.
3. Community Construction & Renovation:
Help with light renovation projects such as painting classrooms, repairing community halls, or improving local temples and facilities.

Climate and Best Time to Volunteer
Hua Hin enjoys a warm, tropical climate year-round with three main seasons.
The cool, dry season (November–February) offers the most comfortable weather, with lower humidity and average daytime temperatures around 25–30°C.
The hot season (March–June) is the warmest period, with temperatures often above 35°C, though coastal breezes help moderate the heat.
The rainy season (July–October) brings short tropical showers, usually followed by sunshine, with temperatures averaging around 30°C.
Programs run throughout the year, though the cooler months are generally more comfortable for volunteering and outdoor activities.
Volunteer Community
Volunteers come from around the world and represent a wide range of ages, with many participants in their 20s and 30s. While GoEco aims to place mature volunteers together whenever possible, this cannot always be guaranteed. All placements are designed to create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere where participants of all ages can share experiences and work together toward common goals.
Holidays for Teaching Volunteers
During long holidays from mid-March to mid-May and throughout October, students return to their families or villages. Seize this opportunity to engage in special classes, English camps, and renovation projects, contributing to the community’s development. These school holidays open avenues for additional engagement outside of the regular classroom setting, including environmental and construction volunteer programs. Immerse yourself in the local cultural festivities when relevant, enhancing your understanding of Thai traditions and fostering deeper connections with the community.
The program offers a flexible schedule, with volunteers leaving the center at different times based on school schedules. Teaching sessions typically last 2-3 hours in the morning or afternoon, and on some days, volunteers may teach both morning and afternoon sessions. Lunch is provided at the school or the center, depending on the day’s program.
Hua Hin’s accessible location and coastal beauty make it an ideal destination for exploration. During your stay, you can enjoy:
Culture Week in Hua Hin:
For an additional fee, you can extend your stay for a week, with a program designed to introduce you to Thai culture, as well as give you time to get to know the other volunteers. During the program, you’ll have time to explore several famous sights around Hua Hin, followed by Thai customs, language, cooking lessons.
