Volunteer With Orangutans

As human industry continues to push for the destruction of the rain forests, the resulting loss of habitat poses a direct threat to the orangutan’s survival. In the past decade, the wild population has decreased by an estimated 50%. Because of this threat, research and conservation efforts are vital to protect the remaining orangutan population and to build a future where these beautiful creatures can repopulate the wild. GoEco’s volunteering opportunities in Indonesia and Malaysia allow animal lovers of all backgrounds and experience to contribute to orangutan conservation. Volunteers can take on roles such as behavior monitoring, preparing food and feeding the orangutans, habitat and enclosure management, animal husbandry, enrichment activities and data entry.
