Coral Reef Conservation

Coral reefs are an integral part of sea and ocean health. They are home to some of the most unique samplings of ocean life, provide breeding grounds and feeding areas for countless species and are an important indicator of ocean health.

Unfortunately, these fragile ecosystems face a multitude of threats including fishing practices using dynamite and cynide, pollution, bottom-trawling and the introduction of invasive species.

Dedicated conservationists around the world are doing their part to protect our oceans and our reefs. These volunteer projects give you the opportunity to join them in their important work!
